Description of the project
Re-pavement project of approximately 6 hectares of open dry bulk storage. The biggest challenge of this project was the phased execution, minimizing disturbance of the ongoing operations. The first 2 hectares were constructed in only 5 weeks. Tight scheduling, reusing construction materials and deploying several machine pavers simultaneously were key elements of this achievement.
A new base had to be installed since the old pavement had settled about 1 to 2 meters. The base was constructed using, amongst other materials, the crushed existing paver blocks. By combining this reused material with purchased base material, a lean and well drained base could be constructed. The stability analysis was performed using Veroad xl software.
