Description of the project

The objective of the study was to identify bottlenecks regarding port layout, infrastructure, superstructure, operations, safety, security, environmental and institutional bottlenecks related to a market outlook and forecast and to identify improvements and related cost.
A PCR expert participated in World Bank missions to ports and landing facilities in the Pacific: on Tonga islands (Tongatapu, Vavau, Lifuka and Haafeva islands), Tuvalu attols and islands (Fongafale (Funafuti), Nanumanga, Niutao, Nanumea, Vaitupu), the Marshall Islands (Majuro (Delap and Uliga Docks) and Ebeye) and the Micronesian Island States (Phonpei, Chuuk and Yap).
