Project Description
Description of the project
In 2006 the 12 major ports in India were asked by the Indian Ports Association to submit a port business plan for the next 6 years. These port business plans should be based on a masterplan covering the coming 20 years.
From an overall analysis of the present performance as well as the trade and traffic forecasts it was concluded that the port has a potential to become the major hub port for the North-eastern part of India.
In the masterplan phased expansion plans were drawn up to meet the capacity requirements for the next decades as dictated by the trade and traffic forecasts. A financial analysis was made to evaluate the feasibility of the proposed activities and projects during the 6 year business plan period.
