Description of the project

Dead Sea Works (DSW), a business unit of ICL Fertilizers, is the world’s seventh largest producer and supplier of potash products. Three times (once in 2012, and twice in 2015) claims have been filed against DSW by a Chinese buyer of
Potash. In every case, shipments of white potash were contaminated with red granular potash, significantly reducing the value of the white potash. Today, extensive measures have already been taken to prevent cross-contamination.

PCR visited the sites in Ashdod, Eilat, Sdom (production location at the Dead Sea), and Zefa (transfer station 18km from Sdom) in an attempt to investigate where in the supply chain cross-contaminations were still able to occur, and which measures could be taken to prevent such cross-contaminations.
